We ordered a juice sampler. They were just okay and not something we would order again
J ordered the Gaines Bros burger and I had the pancake breakfast. These were both good and pretty cheap.
This was the line when we left.
After breakfast we went to the Silos. First stop was the bakery. I had a chocolate cupcake a J had a shiplap cupcake. The cupcakes were good but the frosting was like eating pure sugar.
The bakery staff hands out a card with all of the bakery items listed. You mark what you want and then give it to the cashier when you make it in. They pack your stuff up and then call your name when it’s ready.
Here are some pictures of the grounds.
And a few from inside the store.
Our next stop was the Waco Suspension Bridge that was used to cross the river in the 1800’s.
After walking across the bridge we made our way to the Texas Ranger Museum.
We spent about two hours here looking at the exhibits. We decided to take a sight seeing break after the museum and went to the movies and saw the new Jurassic Park movie. It’s not my cup of tea but J likes the series.
After the movie we went to the Heritage Craft Village. It’s a small village with potters, woodworking, a grain mill, cheese maker and the like. We bought some spices, baking mixes and cheese.
It was about 5 pm when we left so we got takeout tacos so we could get back to take care of Buddy.
We leave early tomorrow to head back home. Our next trip is Labor Day weekend. Well be off to Oklahoma City.
