One of the few things that K2 will eat is chicken; so I decided to break out the crock-pot and make a chicken dish. I used the book "Art of the Slow Cooker 80 Exciting New Recipes"
I had high hopes for this recipe and thought the Slow-Cooked Teriyaki Chicken sounded good. I assembled all the ingredients:
I dumped them all into the crock-pot (this recipe called for browning the chicken, but I skipped that step). I also used Sake instead of sherry or apple juice, but keep in mind, when the Japanese make Teriyaki they always use Sake so I didn't think it would make that big of a difference. Teriyaki is quite big over here and it is usually made with chicken.
When I got home from work today, I tasted the sauce and it was horrible. In fact, I don't even have an after picture because it was that bad. I gave Buddy one of the pieces of chicken (he thought it was wonderful) and tossed the other.
I ended up making the Penne Arrabiata again, since it is quick.
So this got the big old unhappy face.
