The top plate was mine. I had the “trailer park” which is chicken and a breakfast taco which had potatoes, cheese and beans. J had the “dirty danchez” and the “migas”. We liked them
We then just drive around Dallas until the tour started.
There was 9 people on the tour.
The first stop was an edible cookie dough place called The Dough Dough
The one on the bottom is chocolate chip and the top is cookies and cream. They were good but it’s just very ruch and not something would get again.
Next up was Kate Weiser a chocolate store. They gave us each one piece of candy to sample.
No picture of our samples but one was key lime and the other peanut butter. We bought a small box of candy.
Can’t remember the flavors but they are pretty.
Our next stop was CocoAndre. They gave us a small sample of chocolate bark with pistachios, coconut and sea salt and half a chocolate raspberry ganache with lavender on it. Both were very good. We bought a small box of truffles and a small bag of bark. I can’t remember what the truffles are but I’m sure they’re good.
Next up was “Joy” a macaron store. We’re still not into macarons no matter how many times we try them. They gave us 1 each. Of course we bought nothing here.
And our final stop if the day was Pogey O’s. An ice cream, cookie and popcorn shop. They gave us half an ince cream sandwich made with chocolate chip cookies and Blue Bell vanilla ice cream. Blue Bell is popular in Texas and Louisiana but to me it’s just regular ice cream, but I’m not a big ice cream eater so that may color my viewpoint.
And that was the tour. The driver and tour guide were friendly but I wouldn’t recommend this one. I guess we expected more than just being driven to stores to buy stuff and half s truffle as a sample just seemed to be kind of a rip off but now we know.
We went to Gus’ Fried Chicken in Fort Worth for dinner. We’ve been here before and we always get a bucket to go.
I always get the 2 white meat plate and J gets the half chicken.
After that we made our way back to the hotel. We will head back home early tomorrow.
Our next camping trip will be to Atlanta Texas over President’s Day weekend in February.
