The first stop was called Odd Duck. The food was good but they were sooooo slow.
We then hit a dim sum place. This was the best picture of the outside I could get. The man had fallen down and needed help getting back up slowly.
This was a deep fried cream cheese and smoked trout dumpling. I hate fish so didn’t try it. J said it was good.
Deep fried turnips.
Chili dumplings. These were good but should have been served last because they “blew” our palate.
This was some sort of pork dumpling. It was also good.
Our next stop was a food truck where we had an egg and retried bean taco. It was parked next to a coffee truck where we received an espresso lemonade. And yes, it tasted as bad as it sounds. It was a new vendor to the tour and everyone pretty much provided the same feedback, it was neat to try but just didn’t understand it.
The glasses were cute though.
Our last stop was at Fixe. Here they gave us fried chicken sandwiches, fries and biscuits with butter whipped with Louisiana cane syrup and blueberry jam. The biscuits were the best and I don’t generally eat them. Too bad I didn’t get a picture of them.
We had one final stop at that was an olive orchard in Dripping Springs.
We got several different types of olive oil and a few balsami vinegars.
That was it for Austin. Our next trip will be over Columbus Day weekend and we’re headed to Grapevine Texas.
